KL Gangster - “Lu abang long ka, ayahanda ka, gua punya wang, KL ini gua pegang.”

What i can say about this movie is "Congrats". Shamsul had made a good movie, full of action and not boring to watch.

This movie is about a tale of two brothers who get involved in the world of gangsterism. The older brother Malek (Aaron Aziz) was imprisoned for five years after being betrayed by his own gang which was started by Shark (Syamsul), the step brother of the most influential gangster in Kuala Lumpur, King (Ridzuan Hashim). Malek who leads a normal life after being released, is pulled back into the world he left behind after all those years. Especially since his younger brother Jai (Adyputra) is influenced by the gangsters and decides to work for Shark bringing everything down in chaos.

The storyline and the plot of the movie was well arranged. Although the movie is about gangsterism, good values being shown in this movie eg: "Friendship" and "Uphold Family Value" Those values were well communicated throughout this movie which make the movie meaningful. The action style which was look alike "A copy of Hong Kong movie style" was well adapted into the movie.

According to some sources, PEKIDA want to sue Shamsul because some of the plot, using word like "Abang Long" and "Ayahanda" which related to the group. Although there was an issue with it, it does't stop people from watching the movie and making it some kind of "Promotion" to the movie itself. Just 4 days, the movie had gain RM6.2 million which put KL Gangster as one of the top local movies.
