HTC Flip Flop on Gingerbread for HTC Desire?

Last year HTC had announce that Android 2.3 aka Gingerbread will be available to the Original HTC Desire. I am glad that this phone OS will be upgradeable.

Recently HTC announce that the Original Desire will not be upgrade to Gingerbread due to hardware limitation. A filp?

Checkout the news in gsmarena.com as below. It is quite sad to know that they intend to ditched the Original Desire without an upgrade on the new OS and felt cheated by HTC. I am one of the owner of the model and i am looking forward for this upgrade since last year after HTC had announce and promise an upgrade to Android 2.3 will be available for Original Desire. According to the source HTC Desire did not had enough memory for the upgrade but lower specification phone like the Wildfire S able to upgrade to the new OS? What is this nonsense by HTC?

But short after the announcement of the bad new on HTC Desire, a day later in the HTC UK Facebook, they post the following statement in the Wall. Another flop for HTC? If this statement is true then it will be a big relief for me, else i will curse HTC and won't trust on their product or any of their statement in future. Time will tell if they had lied or not. For Asia we had to wait until the latest announcement from HTC

A last word as a conclusion, HTC Please Make this HAPPEN.
